Easter is slowly coming upon us, so I thought I’d share with you some of my ideas for some Easter basket gift ideas for preschoolers! I love to include some educational, learning toys in my little one’s basket rather than giving candy and trinkets just to fill up the space.
There are some great products out there that are perfect for baskets and will give your child something tangible they can play with or use for years. And hey, I like to get my money’s worth, don’t you?
This Easter gift guide includes a ton of different Easter basket gift ideas for preschoolers!

Easter Basket Gift Ideas for Preschoolers:
6 piece Matching Easter Egg game-I love this game because it’s perfect for little hands to play with! It’s a matching egg game that teaches colors and shapes! Each set comes with 1 egg of each color and shape.
Easter Bunny and Chick Play-Doh-I’m a HUGE fan of play-doh play! Play-doh is a great sensory item that can be used in so many ways with the right tools! I just think these Easter shaped doughs are adorable!
Lego Easter Bunny– I have a little boy at home who is obsessed with Lego! I just think this cute little Easter bunny is the perfect way to surprise a Lego-lover with their favorite toy, but staying true to the Easter theme! Lego encourage independent play and teach children to follow step-by-step instructions which is great for pre-literacy skills!
Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure-This is the first of 3 books that I recommend sticking in an Easter basket. We love books in our house, so for every holiday, I try to at least give one book. Pete the Cat is wildly popular among young children, and this one is no different! Pete wakes up one morning and discovers that the Easter Bunny could use some help, so Pete the Cat becomes Pete the Bunny. This is a hilarious book that is sure to bring out lots of giggles!
The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story-This is a Living Lights book, which means it’s based on the Bible story of Easter. I love this book because it tells the story of Easter in a way that is accurate to the Bible story, yet explains it in a way that kids can understand. If you prefer not to have a religious book, I recommend checking out The Berenstain Bears and the Real Easter Eggs.
Happy Easter, Mouse! I love this book because I’m a huge fan of Laura Numeroff’s “If You Give” series. In this book, Mouse is determined to find out who is leaving him Easter eggs. It’s an adventure you’re kids will love. So, will Mouse find the Easter Bunny?
Mad Libs Easter Eggstravaganza-If you haven’t introduced your elementary student to Mad Libs yet, now is the time! The stories are all in good humor and clean fun. There is nothing offensive about these Mad Libs. Plus, it teaches your youngster all about the various forms of language {verb, pronoun, adjectives, etc}. You can do this with your child if they aren’t old enough to write yet, or it can be done independently by your school-ager.
Crayola Sidewalk Chalk-Sidewalk Chalk is fun. Hands down. I recommend this for many reasons. Sidewalk chalk is great for encouraging creativity, entices your child to go play outside, can help your child practice drawing letters and numbers, and can be used to draw many imaginative games, art, and more!
Paint Your Own Easter Egg Ornaments-I just love these paint your own egg ornaments. This kit comes with 6 ceramic eggs, a paintbrush, and 6 paints. The bonus of these is that you can take them to any pottery place and get them fired in the kiln to seal the colors to the eggs.
Nesting Easter Scene-I just love these because they remind me of the Christmas Nativity scene. This set comes with 9 hand-painted wooden dolls that depict the Easter scene. These are the perfect size for little hands to play with and explore.
Fairy Toobs or On the Farm Toobs-My little boy is in love with any Toob because they are PERFECT for sensory kits and imagination play. I just love the Down on the Farm Toob and Fairy Toob because they remind me of Spring and Easter! If you’re unfamiliar with Toobs, they are tubes filled with figurines of a theme–they have farm, trains, planes, cars, arctic, zoo, so many! We buy these and I create a sensory kit around them.
Melissa and Doug Sunny Patch Butterfly Tea Set-I just think this is a perfect Spring gift for any Easter basket. I’m a huge fan of Melissa & Doug products because the products are very well made and are educational. This tea set is made with food-safe, bpa-free, and pvc-free plastic. Tea parties are perfect activities to do outside under the shade of a tree or in a garden of flowers.
I hope this gives you some great ideas on things you can get for your child’s Easter Basket this year!

Wonderful ideas! I love seeing your Facebook posts. I as a child was a hands on learner and my child only being 11 months old… is already showing that she learns best with hands on. Thanks for the ideas! I love the egg game

This is a really great list. I try to get the play dough bunny and chick at after Easter sells for the next year. We did Easter books for a long time and have way too many, so I haven’t done books the last a couple of years. I have not seen the egg matching game. It looks like fun. Have a good day!

You rounded up some great ideas. I love the LEGO bunny and the Toobs (they are great for so many things!) These are a nice way to add some play ideas to the basket and I like that then it is not all candy. Pinning.
