Since preschoolers are always interested in all kinds of different topics, I love putting together lists of books for preschoolers with various fun topics. Books are a great way to inspire your little one’s imagination and can bring them to new worlds! Reading books with kids is so much fun and is a great way to build their literacy skills that are important to learning to read once they reach elementary school.
Reading to your preschooler helps them recognize that books are read from front to back and that words are read from left to right. Even though your child may not be able to read the words yet, having the book in their hands teaches them book handling skills, and how to recognize print and illustrations. It is also a great way to enhance their imagination and familiarity with stories, and introduce them to new vocabulary words.
These book lists and collections are a great way to include new titles in your theme studies at home. If you’re a teacher these books are great for rotating out on your shelves periodically. Or you can make a list of new books to check out on your next trip to the library.
