If you’re looking for a book about Paris for kids, look no further! Mason and I decided to read The Adventures of Bella & Harry: Let’s Visit Paris. We love the Bella & Harry series because they are very informative about each country they visit. Mason currently has an infatuation with speaking the French language, so we went with the Paris book, so we could explore the beautiful city of Paris, France!
We are always reading books at home about all kinds of topics and we just love when we can find one that can be included with activities!
If you’re homeschooling or teaching your child about various parts of the world, I highly recommend the Bella & Harry adventure series. You can check out some of the titles here.

After reading this book with your child, here are some fun activities we did to correlate with the book:
1. We created a city of lights
Paris is known as the “City of Lights”, so we discussed what a city is and what makes a city a city {big buildings, loud noises, taxi cabs, etc}
Mason drew a city, and then we created the lights on the building by using glue and gold glitter.
2. We built an Eiffel Tower
I used this drawing {click here} and toothpicks! Mason discovered where the straight lines were and used a line of glue and put a toothpick on every straight line. He was so proud when his tower was completely built. The fun part of this? Not every toothpick will fit perfectly, so your little one will have to discern which places need a longer or smaller toothpick. Since the toothpicks are easy to break, this is a great independent activity to promote fine-motor development.
3. We drew and colored the French flag
4. We explored with watercolors
Since some French painters are known for their use of watercolors, I let Mason explore the beauty of watercolors. I placed some Claude Monet pictures around him so that he could have some examples, but he went in his own direction and painted the Eiffel Tower.
Hope you and your little readers enjoy traveling to Paris, France and completing these fun activities! Comment below with any other ideas you may have!

I love the simple art activities. We don’t know the Bell and Harry series so I’ll have to add this one to my list. I have a feeling my list is going to get too long going through this month’s Poppins Book Nook selections! – Lori

I am crazy for your Eiffel Tower! How creative! I would love to visit Paris too, but Bella and Harry may have to satisfy my desires for a while.
Thank you for helping to bring a spoonful of reading fun to the Poppins Book Nook this month!

I love your Paris activities, especially the Eiffel Tower one! We tried to make an Eiffel Tower from sugar wafers once, and it totally bombed as an activity. It’s a good thing the wafers were delicious!
